Allsorts Youth project is a support organisation for LGBT youth in Brighton and Hove. Our support ranges from a weekly safe space drop in, to support and information around sexual orientation and gender and health matters (including sexual health and mental health). We also have a volunteering project where young people are encouraged to become peer educators (promoting LGBT awareness in Schools, sexual health awareness amongst peers), and also to volunteer in setting up projects for LGBT youth (i.e. planning and running a LGBT prom for young people).
Bear Men of Adelaide is a social group for gay men who enjoy the company of masculine gay men. It is hard to define exactly what a "bear man" is but it often includes facial hair and a large frame, although people of all shapes, sizes and "hairstyles" can identify themselves as bears. The club is open and inclusive and accepting of everyone who enjoys the company of bears. BMoA holds regular social gatherings at our usual pub, currently the Whitmore Hotel, on Friday nights. We also arrange other social events such as bowling, restaurants, and local tours. You don't have to be a club member to attend BMoA events but if you like what we do we'd encourage you to join and support the club.
The Bi Writers Association works to dispel myths and stereotypes about bisexuality and is the foremost voice promoting bi writers, bi books and bisexual writing in America. BWA provides networking email lists for bi writers, an online bi book club, a bi bookstore, a media guide, links to bi writer blogs and websites, bisexual booklists and Bidar: a blog covering bisexuality in media arts & culture. BWA successfully campaigned for a Bisexual Book Award category at the Lammys LGBT book awards (added in 2006), organizes readings, bi culture events, panels, summits, conferences and has launched a bisexual book donations campaign for the LGBT Community Center Library in New York City. BWA includes bi writers in all genres: journalism, fiction, non-fiction, plays, TV and movie scripts, poetry, songwriting and erotica.
